Manufacturing
Applications / Database Development
- Designed and delivered various customizations
to an existing ERP Manufacturing application. Customizations
provided additional functionality in the areas of Production
and Capacity planning. Using RAD techniques, architected,
developed, and deployed an add-on module for Distribution
Requirements Planning that accommodated the highly variable
seasonal product requirements of the vertically integrated
jeweler. Technologies used: C+, Oracle, VBA, ODBC, SQL
Forms, HP-UX, Windows
Portal Technologies
- Sales Analysis Portal for supporting
on-demand, flexible analysis of sales orders. The sales
orders were created and maintained on an AS/400, then
extracted and imported into a MS SQL Server data warehouse.
Based on their privileges, users were allowed to view
‘their' pieces of the data pie in a variety of graphical
formats. Technologies used: VB.Net, ASP.Net, C#, ADO.Net,
MS SQL Server 2000, DTS, DB2, IIS, Active Directory,
Windows 2000, Web Services, Novell, AS/400, RPG.
- Integrated two enterprise applications
that at the time worked as two separate applications
doing different jobs into one huge application tracking,
storing, pushing and pulling data from each other. Developed
and implemented a custom portal called Console that
has the Outlook look and feel so that all the applications
that were written for it looked and acted the same.
Console then became the staging point (portal) for all
the enterprise applications. Technologies used: SQL
Server 2000, ASP, VB6, OLAP, and CAD Viewer. Applications
were protected via the Active Directory of Windows 2000
Server.
- Content Management Portal for creating
and maintaining the corporate intranet, with less than
4 hours of training, business users were building their
area of the corporate intranet. This Portal integrated
with a Domino server running Lotus Notes as the e-mail
system. Technologies used: VB.Net, ASP.Net, ADO.Net,
MS SQL Server 2000, IIS, Lotus Notes, Windows 2000,
Novell.
Healthcare
Portal Technologies
- Designed and developed a web-based
suite of Healthcare business systems that included Plan,
Provider, Enrollee, Claim, and Payment modules. Initial
access to the suite of applications was based on Active
Directory, and which functions within the modules you
were allowed to access was controlled by a security
database. This suite of applications allowed the client
to meet the access to protected health information requirements
mandated by the HIPAA Security Rule. Designed and implemented
a Document Management Portal for managing HIPAA compliance
project documents. The portal was designed to be extensible
with the vision of it being used in the future as the
corporate intranet as well as the corporate extranet.
Technologies used: VB.Net, ASP.Net, MS SQL Server, ODBC,
Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, Active Directory,
Windows 2000 and NT.
Identifying and Resolving Redundancies
- Mentored personnel responsible for
data conversion on how to map multiple data sources
for identification of data redundancies, gaps, and inconsistencies
across the multiple data models, as well as how to track
and resolve issues with inconsistencies and missing
data.
Oil and Gas
Applications / Database Development
- Architected, developed, and deployed
a web-based Time Entry System for use in time accounting
in over 4000 retail stores. Users consist of retail
personnel, corporate accounting, and payroll. Security
is based on Active Directory and a security database.
Technologies used: C#, ASP.Net, C++, Oracle, MS SQL
Server, XML, MSMQ.
Working with Large, Complex Organization
- Technical lead and architect on
an integrated team where we also mentored client personnel
on .Net technologies. Software developer supporting
multiple business functions.
Distribution
E-Commerce
- Developed a web-based store-front
and allocations system. This extranet application allows
Marketing Reps, Zone Administrators, Sales Reps and
Distributors to log into the system and place orders
for various marketing products based on specific marketing
promotions. The system allows Marketing reps to create
promotions, assign item to the promotions and assign
budget (monetary or qty) levels to the corresponding
promotions. Once the promotion had been activated the
Zone Administrators, Sales Reps, and Distributors could
‘Go Shopping' for any of the items associated with a
particular promotion. Security levels are put in place
so that a ‘User' can only see and purchase what they
are allowed. Various business rules are in place to
make sure Inventory Levels and Budget Levels were not
exceeded. The system interfaces with various freight
carriers, electronically sending the shipping instructions,
to process and ship the orders when placed.
Internet
E-Commerce
- Created a web-based storefront and
accounting system for an online retailer. Retail site
also had secure web-based administration functions supporting
inventory management, order fulfillment, and interfacing
with CyberCash for credit card processing.
- Developed a web-based storefront
and fulfillment database for an online store that interfaced
with publisher's warehouse, fulfillment processes for
inventory control, order processing, and with CyberCash
for credit card processing.
Entertainment
Applications / Database Development
- Designed a secure, web-based software
solution to streamline the tagging and tracking of assets
such as computers and furniture. This system is architected
to be scaleable, so that it will easily allow for future
extensions in functionality, data, and number of users.
Establish the foundation for electronic communication
of asset information between the various departments
that need visibility or control of this information.
This information is secured through data encryption
technologies. New assets may be transferred between
locations in the system through the use of handheld
barcode scanning devices. Handheld units with integrated
scanning capabilities are used. Once a new asset is
scanned into the system, a barcode label with a unique
asset ID are printed and attached to facilitate the
subsequent use of barcode scanning to enable transferring
the asset between locations.
Food Service
Portal Technologies
- Sales Portal on the corporate intranet
for maintaining, reporting and analyzing sales information
transmitted from over 100 retail locations. Technologies
used: Visual Basic, ASP, ODBC, MS SQL Server 2000, IIS,
Active Directory, Windows NT, Novell.
Identifying and Resolving Redundancies
- Designed and implemented processes
to determine redundancies, gaps and inconsistencies
in data being extracted from retail stores and loaded
into the Sales Analysis data warehouse. These processes
were designed to report issues for correction prior
to being loaded into the warehouse.
